Fast Facts On The Georgia-Kentucky Series
*Georgia leads the UK series 64-12-2 including winning the past 15 meetings dating to 2010. That is the second longest winning streak against an opponent in school history, trailing only 22 in a row against Mercer from 1892-1941.

*When the 2026 SEC football schedule was released last Tuesday, it should be noted that Georgia will not play Kentucky for the first time since 1955! Georgia will travel to Kentucky in 2027.

*Georgia and Kentucky first met on the gridiron in 1939, a 13-6 Wildcat win in Louisville. Kentucky’s last victory in the series came in Athens under the lights in 2009 (34-27).

Since then, Georgia had won 26 consecutive home night games until last Saturday against No. 17 UA.

*In 2024, top-ranked Georgia escaped Kentucky with a 13-12 win. The Bulldogs trailed 6-3 at the half, tallying just three first downs and 63 total yards. Georgia took its first lead with 10:28 left in the fourth quarter after a 10-play, 68-yard touchdown drive. It was capped by a Branson Robinson three-yard plunge. Georgia’s defense limited the Wildcats to four field goals on the night.

*The Wildcats arrive in Athens with a 2-2 mark including 0-2 in the SEC. This past Saturday in Columbia, S.C., they fell to the Gamecocks 35-13. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs lost for the first time Between the Hedges in six years when No. 17 UA held on for a 24-21 victory to snap Georgia’s
school record 33-game home winning streak.

Bouncing Back
In the Kirby Smart era, the Bulldogs are 16-3 after a loss, and they haven’t lost back-to-back games in the regular season since 2016 when it happened twice. In 2024, Georgia lost at No. 4 Alabama and bounced back to defeat Auburn at home. Later in the year, the Bulldogs fell at No. 16 Ole Miss and responded with a win over No. 7 Tennessee in Athens. Georgia did drop its final two games of the 2018 postseason (lost to No. 1 Alabama in the SEC Championship Game and then to No. 15 Texas in the Sugar Bowl).

Running Back Rotation Keeping Everyone Fresh
*Overall, Georgia is averaging 213.5 rushing yards per game with 12 TDs.

*Redshirt freshman Chauncey Bowens enjoyed a breakout performance against No. 17 Alabama, posting a career-best 119 yards on 12 carries (9.9 average) including a 43-yard scamper. He is the first Bulldog to go over 100 rushing yards in a game this season.
*The Bulldogs had 55 rushes for 198 yard in the win at No. 15 UT. Frazier had a team-long 21-yard burst on the first play in overtime to set up the game-winning score by McCray who notched a pair of scores in the triumph.

*Phillips is averaging 8.1 yards per carry.

Stopping The Run Starts Up Front
One of the hallmarks of an elite defense is stopping the run.
*This year, Marshall was limited to 78 rushing yards on 31 attempts while
Austin Peay gained just 45 rushing yards on 28 attempts.
*No. 15 UT came in averaging 252.5 rushing ypc and 605 yards of total offense/
game; UT posted 125 rushing yards (34 att.) and 496 yards of total offense.
*No. 17 UA was limited to 117 yards (38 att.) for a 3.1 average
