Is Tennessee the new SEC doormat team?

The Vols are an absolute dumpster fire. And to hear their fans tell it, they see little hope in the future, with no real studs to hang their hopes on. Getting took to the woodshed by Vandy was the season low-light.

So, check out the state of the division;
UGA is the youngest team in the league and about to play for it's second straight SEC Title. That should send shivers up the spine of every fanbase in the league.
Ol Mullens is a goofball, but he's done a pretty good turnaround for the Gators and seems to have them getting back on track.
Mizzou is the hottest team in the league right now
UK had a great season and could get 10 wins
SC didn't quite live up to expectations this season, but they might still get 7 or 8 wins.
Vandy is going bowling

So....where does all of this leave UT? The cellar of despair? Pruitt has the personality of a brick, so I'd be worried about his ability to recruit top talent. Their current recruiting class is ranked 15th nationally, but only 6th in the SEC. Middle of the pack would be great for UK, Vandy and maybe SC or Mizzou, but it would be a huuuuge disappointment for the likes of Bama, UGA and LSU. So is it over? The Glory days of the Big Orange are gone for good.. Or is there hope?

Ok, so obviously UGA is here to stay, we are not going anywhere as Kirby put it after last years crushing loss to Bama.

IF we lose to Bama on Saturday, we still go to a major bowl and I would predict a win there, likely against Texas.

UF looks improved but are they really. The key will be the QB spot, is it Franks or Emory Jones. Some say Jones is a stud and typical Mullen QB, but Mullen is NOT recruiting at a high enough level to sustain or surpass UGA.

Missouri will lose Lock, and I believe with that loss, they will come crashing down to middle of the pack, they simply don't have the athletes that we do, could battle UF, UK and SCarolina for second.

UK, great season but lose almost their entire defense, and probably their offense in Snell, good coaching though-but will someone try to lure away Stoops. I see them going back to down 500 level next year.

SCarolina, I believe they have a shot to finish second next year because they will have a SR QB in Bentley, and WM has recruited pretty well for that school. They simply don't have enough weapons to stay with us, especially coming to Athens next year.

Vandy and UT, I would have to favor UT making a bigger move next year as Vandy loses their QB while UT brings their QB back and they are recruiting better than anyone in the east pretty much accept us. They will finish with a pretty strong class because they can sell PT, while Vandy I believe has peaked under Mason, I don't expect them to be any better next year than they were this year.

I believe UGA/UF probably are the only legit teams in the E next year, maybe SCarolina sneaks in there, in reality the SEC in general to me continues to separate, UGA/Bama continue to climb to a bigger and bigger talent advantage than anyone in their respective divisions. A&M might be the team to give Bama the biggest scare next year, I am not sold on AU, LSU or Miss State becoming much of a threat.

Last season Arkansas and Tennessee finished with 4-8 records. The Razorbacks won one SEC game while the Volunteers didn't win any conference games in 2017.

This season Arkansas earned a 2-10 overall record and were winless against SEC opponents. Meanwhile, Tennessee earned a 5-7 overall record and won two conference games (which broke a losing streak to every SEC program).

Thus I'd say that the Hogs are the SEC's new doormat team. Ole Miss (5-7 overall, 1-7 SEC) is probably the conference's second worst team (the Rebels lone SEC win was 37-33 over the Razorbacks), then the Volunteers.
