ATHENS - UGA Football‘s 2026 schedule is set, and the Bulldogs have another challenging slate of games to deal with next fall.
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have gone back-to-back as 2024 and 2025 SEC Champions. Now the Bulldogs know when they will travel to Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Arkansas. 2026 will be the first time in SEC play that UGA plays Oklahoma - a game Between the Hedges. Auburn, Missouri and Vanderbilt also come to Athens.
Meanwhile, the Worlds’ Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party takes a two-year break from Jacksonville. In 2026, the Bulldogs take on the Gators in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. In 2027 the game heads to Tampa.
Georgia Tech returns to Athens for the first time since perhaps the greatest game in the history of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate - an eight overtime thriller Between the Hedges on Black Friday 2024.
The 2026 UGA football schedule is the first year in a four-year scheduling format the SEC office created that will expire in 2029. The Bulldogs keep their two traditional league rivals on the schedule (Florida and Auburn), and add South Carolina. Those three teams will play Georgia yearly until at least 2029 UGA officials confirmed earlier this fall. If there is a change amongst that trip it would be the Gamecocks dropping from the rotation insiders have comfirmed.
UGA will play the other 12 SEC programs in Athens and away over the four-year period until 2029, when the SEC will consider any scheduling changes due to the landscape of college football at the time.
The addition of a 9th SEC game in 2026 and beyond has already had out-of-confernce ramifications for the Bulldogs. On Wednesday, UGA announced that it had mutually agreed with Louisville to cancel games with the Cards in 2026 and 2027. Georgia and N.C. State also agreed to cancel their home-and-home series for the 2033-34 seasons. UGA still has future games with Clemson, Florida State and Ohio State scheduled for now.
Perhaps the highlight of the 2026 season is the Bulldogs' game at Alabama. The matchup is the third time UGA has played in Tuscaloosa this decade. The two programs have played against one another seven times in six seasons this decade - twice in the 2020s the Dawgs and Tide have faced off twice in the same season. Alabama and UGA is the most-played game in college football since 2020.
The trip to Arkansas will be the first for the Bulldogs since Stetson Bennett rallied Georgia to a season-opening win over the Hogs in 2020. Georgia lost at Ole Miss in 2024 - a game that saw Rebel fans storm the field before time ran out.
Meanwhile, Auburn travels to Athens to renew the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. The Bulldogs host two teams with Big Eight ties - Missouri and Oklahoma in Athens this fall. Vanderbilt returns Between the Hedges for the first time since 2022. It is possible Georgia could face longtime 5-star QB Jared Curtis, who flipped from UGA to Vandy just before Signing Day, when Vanderbilt comes to town.
Georgia will travel to South Carolina for the first time since a 48-7 beating of the Cocks in 2022 in Columbia. The 2026 season is the first since 1991 that the Bulldogs will not play the Tennessee Vols. Georgia has won nine games in a row in the series, which won't return until 2027 and 2029.
