I don't think I've ever seen a team become so 'overrated and forgotten' in the eyes of the media after a loss than what's happened to us. Even Ohio St after getting throttled by an average Purdue team is getting a pass...afterall, the Boilermakers were playing for a poor kid with cancer.
This team has been left for dead, plain and simple. The question is, will this make them rise up and play with a chip on their shoulder to prove the world wrong, or will they start believing what everyone is saying?...no identity....no leadership....QB quandry got us in a flux....etc. etc.

I was on a family camping trip to the Smokies last weekend so I was out of the loop as far as the ballgames. I never did get to see Herbie's reaction to the suckeyes getting their arses handed to them. I guarantee that Herbie already has his talking points lined up to justify OSU making the playoff when/if they win out. I still say that in the grand scheme of things that you have a clear #1 (Bammy) and after them you have about 6-8 teams fighting for 3 playoff spots. If we take care of our business the rest of the year and can somehow put a pad on the crimson tide, we will be there.

Bama has looked like a juggernaut, but they always look like a juggernaut for the first 6 or 7 games of the year running up 65 points on Rhode Island Tech.....this weekend we'll all see if they really are THAT good. I'm just hoping that our team gets fed up with all of the folks telling them they are frauds and we go out and prison rape the gators. It's about time this team stepped and showed just how talented we are.

Don't think we have been written off, but certainly we have been called out-weak non conference schedule, playing probably the bottom 4 of the SECe besides one of SCarolina/Missouri, then failing miserable against the first tough opponent we played. A LOT of the same stuff was said last year, when we lost later in the year, and lost by more points. It is how you respond to that loss is what folks remember.

As apmdawg says, there is clearly a #1 team, after that, EVERY team has struggled and almost lost games to lesser teams than we lost to. Clemson very nearly lost at home to Cuse, ND almost lost to Ball State and Vandy at home, and then had a close call with Pitt recently at home too. LSU lost to UF, Texas lost to Maryland, and Michigan lost to ND who has again barely beat nearly every team they have played this year.

A win this week cures all that ails us, and gives us back some national respect, a win next week clinches the east, and then of course you always are fired up to play Auburn and it will be the first home game since forever.
