lol....so there seems to be a firestorm of accusations about our recruiting success and all sorts of cheating and stuff from our rival fans, mostly Florida and Auburn fans. Seems they just can't swallow the fact that Emery would commit, being the #2 RB in the country....when we have White, Cook, Holyfield and Swift in the fold and chances are he'll have to wait his turn when he could go to UT or UF and be the starter. So the Smart Bomb MUST be doing something underhanded. lol I guess it's never occurred to them that Swift committed to us with Holyfield (4 star), Michel (5 star) and Chubb (5 star) already on the roster and look at the playing time he got! And now, he's the main man. One sensible poster on the Auburn board actually fessed up and said that it was the fact that Chaney knows how to rotate RBs so well (like Bama) does and that's enticing to players. He lamented the fact that Auburn just feeds the stud guy with 40 carries a game and the second stringer just gets mop up time and has to 'wait his turn.' Once Auburn and Florida and UT figure that out, they'll be able to land more quality RBs.
He's right I suppose, but in reality, we've just turned into a monster if you ask me, plain and simple. We've turned into the Beast from the East and right now we're riding a wave of momentum and with our fantastic recruiting haul last season, and our new bazillion dollar upgrades to the facilities and an SEC Title under a belt, there's just no signs of slowing down and all of the 'one hit wonder' talk has just circled the drain. Everyone sees that SC is the only school that seems to be in a place to compete with us right now with UT and UF having to get back on their feet from dumpster fire seasons last year.
In my honest opinion, I really feel that KS youth has got a lot of players excited that we're just now about to hit our peak. Saban is at the back end of his career and that's not hurting our cause when it comes to going head to head with them over the 5 star guys, especially the in-state kids. And unlike the MR years, kids see a much larger commitment to our program as far as going all out with the upgrades and keeping up with the Jones, so to speak.
