UGA Football Listed as Favorite to Take Out Ole Miss Rebels in Sugar Bowl

ATHENS - No. 3 UGA Football has been installed as a near touchdown favorite to beat the No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

Georgia is listed as a 6.5-point favorite to beat the Rebs in the Big Easy. It is the second-largest line the Bulldogs have had in an SEC game this season. 

The Bulldogs are coming off a 28-7 win over No. 9 Alabama in the 2025 Southeastern Conference Championship game in Atlanta. Ole Miss took out Tulane 41-10 in the First Round of the College Football Playoff Saturday afternoon in Oxford.

The status of Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy could have an effect on the line for this game. Lacy left Saturday's win over Tulane in the first half of the game in Oxford. He returned to the game, but favored his left arm and shoulder when he left the game in the second half to head to the locker room. 

Lacy ran for 31 yards on 12 carries against the Bulldogs in October.

In that game Stetson Bennett got his first career start as No. 4 Georgia beat No. 7 Auburn 27-6 Between the Hedges in 2020. The two other games took place this season. The the predecessor to this game - Georgia’s 43-35 win over the Rebs in Athens in October; and UGA’s 24-20 win over the Gators in the Cocktail Party in Jacksonville.
