That's the opinion of linked article's author. So what do you think, should fans stick it out until the bitter end if their team is getting blown out, or is it okay to leave early? That is, are you less of a fan for not staying until the end of the game? Btw, does it hurt programs if players and coaches see their fans bailing on them during games?

I think it helps the teams morale. However, given the sacrifices that many make to attend the games, it is understandable. If you've traveled 4 hrs, and all related costs, it is understandable. Especially, if it is akin to a Richt era "no show" game.

My son and I left the Georgia-Tennessee game in 2016 after Eason hit Ridley with the go ahead touchdown pass. My son said, "Let's go".
I answered, "It's not over yet" and he retorted, "If it's not, we don't want to see it".
My thought was, "Good thinking", so weheaded out and walked briskly toward the car. We are still thankful for not having that ending etched in our memories.

I was listening to that game on ESPN radio and checking updates on my smartphone while watching my younger son's Pop Warner football game. After I saw that UGA went ahead w/ less than a minute to go in the 4th qtr I was in a cheery mood. Not until my drive back I heard the final score and was utterly confused as to what had happened. Conversely, in game #3 vs. Mizzou I thought we were going to lose until QB Jacob Eason hit WR Isaiah McKenzie for the game-winning score on 4th down then UGA's defense forced a fumble and the Dawgs recovered to seal it. Btw, that 2016 season was a yo-yo of ups and downs (i.e., the North Carolina, Nicholls State, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and Georgia Tech games were all nail-biters).
