I dunno....this thought scares me a bit. After a year in the program, Fromm is going to only get better. He's going to be in better shape physically, emotionally and mentally and he'll know the playbook even better. We're talking about a kid how has gone through the fires of Hell already as a true freshman. What true freshman kid, coming right out of HS, could beat Auburn in the SECCG, face off against the Heisman trophy winning QB of the Sooners in the best game of the year in the Rose Bowl, then face off against Bama for the NC? Holy Cow.....it would take the Apocalypse to rattle him now! Part of me says, 'No way Fields can unseat him...' But what if he does? Will he transfer? That's a scary thought....if he don't unseat him, will Fields transfer? That's an even scarier thought. Will they be happy in a 'two-QB system'?
This whole thing is getting me a bit worried and as Haney says, I think my 'inner Munson' is coming on this one. What do you think about this ADF and others?

I think both will play this year and I think both will be fine with it this year. The interesting year will be next year. The way I believe it will happen (and David Pollack disagrees with me but oh well) is that Fields will come in much like Tebow did for the Gators his FR year, he will get packages in the redzone area initially. As the season progresses, this plan could change but I do believe we will have a lot of blowout wins and Fields will be playing a good bit in the second half. Will they let him take off running, probably not but I do think he will get a lot of playing time. Pollack says he only plays in garbage time because of risk of injury and not having another QB but I say this-if we end up with BOTH QB's hurt at the same time this year, we are not playing for a title anyway. The goal is to win a title and the way you win a title is play your best players.

The interesting thing becomes the next year, both kids now have playing experience, obviously Fromm has more but Fields is now ready to roll. It will be interesting to see how these kids can coexist and make it work, and how the coaches can make it work. You always hear that if you have two QB's (a QB controversy) you don't really have a QB. I think it will work itself out honestly. Fields knows he will have a year to play exclusively and unlike Fromm, his year will come as potentially a SR when you want all the reps to make a run for a Heisman, a national title and to improve your draft status.
