Air Force, I live in the Rome area who are we looking at from Model? Model football hasn't really been relevant in a while.
Not sure. Model's varsity program was 1-9 last season and the Blue Devils have no rated prospects in the 2018-'22 classes. Scanning their 2018 roster they don't have any players that fit the FBS prototypical height/weight matrix. Nor did they have any players w/ eye-popping stats last season (e.g., starting QB completed 41.3% of his passes, leading rusher avg. 4.1 ypc, leading receiver made 19 catches and 2 TDs, leading tackler made 52 stops, starting placekicker avg. 44.6 yds/kickoff and made 3 FGs, leading punter avg. 32.4 yds/punt). Therefore, my guess would be that Chaney paid a courtesy visit to the school to maintain good relations, met w/ their DC Gary Johnson, and asked him if they had any under-the-radar prospects (perhaps potential preferred walk-on candidates). Fwiw, UAB WR Coach Larry Smith stopped by Model High School this morning on a recruiting visit.
