WOODSTOCK - With coaches back on the road, this is the time in recruiting season where schools start extending offers. One underclassman who has seen his recruitment take off recently is Woodstock (GA) safety David Daniel. At 6-foot-2 180-pounds, Daniel is a very good athlete who can make an impact in every phase of the game.

The playmaking sophomore received some early offers from Florida, Wisconsin, FSU and Georgia Tech before earning an offer from the in-state Georgia Bulldogs.

“I was excited, shocked, and speechless that one of the top programs and coaches were interested in me.” Daniel said. “I was honored they believed I was an elite athlete at my position and for my age/class.”

At defensive back, Daniel showed that even as a sophomore, he can be a leader and make consistent plays for his team. He shows good instincts for someone his age and looks to be a reliable tackler.

With camp season approaching, Daniel has a chance to really see his recruitment take off and establish himself as one of the top 2021 prospects in the south. It should be a busy spring as Daniel plans to take some visits to some schools that have already offered.

“I would love to visit some of the schools that are not near me like LSU and Michigan.” Daniel said. “I would love to check out my childhood dream school Miami as well.”

Daniel admitted that he is blessed to be in the position he is in after receiving so much attention so early in the process.

“I’ve been training and and putting in this work since I was in youth football to get here.” Daniel said. “It’s a blessing that God gave me this talent and ability. I’ve really been in awe with all my offers and just excited that things are going so well for me and trying to take it all in.”

Look for more offers to start rolling in soon for one of the state’s best athletes in the 2021 class.
