Georgia OC Jim Chaney Leaves for Tennessee: Recruiting Effect

January 8, 2019

ATHENS - It’s been a coaching carousel in Athens the last six months as head coach Kirby Smart will have to hire both a defensive and offensive coordinator for the 2019 season.

There are reports coming out on Tuesday night that offensive coordinator Jim Chaney will be leaving Georgia for the same position at Tennessee where Chaney once coached. The now former Bulldog offensive coordinator coached for the Vols from 2009-2012 and will now be working under head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Chaney came to Athens from Pittsburgh in 2016 when Kirby Smart was hired at Georgia.
