Final Feelings: Signing Day Picks
PORT ST. JOE, Fla. - December’s Signing Day for Georgia has arrived amidst the typical confusion of Signing Days and the news of transfers hitting the program at the same time.

The future of Justin Fields and Luke Ford will shift to the background for the next 24 hours as Georgia tries to sign back-to-back No. 1 recruiting classes for the first time in school history. Fields’ transfer talk also throws a curveball for the program at quarterback. If Fields leaves for another school Georgia is down to only one scholarship quarterback for the spring.
Quarterbacks have come to the forefront suddenly, in the quiet period running up to Signing Day, but the focus will be on three players who will make or break the Dawgs’ chances of getting the No. 1 overall class in the country again.
Two of UGA’s three Signing Day targets - Trey Sanders and Nakobe Dean - are viewed as UGA-Alabama fights. The Dawgs will have to beat out Miami for Tyrique Stevenson Wednesday morning at 9:15 AM EST.
First things first… we don’t “know” where any of the three will sign, but UGA is in a good position for all three heading into Signing Day.
Dawg Post views Stevenson as the most likely to pick Georgia of the three, and is predicting that he will sign with UGA.
Sanders will pick between Alabama, UGA and the Gators at his hometown high school here in Port St. Joe. The Gators are considered major underdogs to the Tide and Dawgs. Georgia appears to have the late momentum in this recruiting.
Dawg Post is predicting that Sanders will sign with UGA.
Dean is the final pick of the trio, and there has been some late confusion with his intentions because of Ole Miss coming into the ball game late.
Dawg Post is the least confident in its pick with Dean of any of the three prospects to watch on Wednesday. Matt DeBary is predicting that Dean will sign with Alabama; Dean Legge is naively predicting that Dean will pick UGA.
