The One Thing We're All Forgetting About: Special Teams

ATLANTA—Offense, defense. We know what this game is mostly going to be about.

But for as much emphasis and pride both Nick Saban and Kirby Smart put on special teams, no one has talked much about the possible impact it could play in this game. Reporters have asked questions concerning it, but fans, analysts, they forget about special teams. They’re all concerned around a few questions:

Can Georgia slow Tua Tagovailoa and his superhero-like group of receivers down?

Will Georgia be able to run the ball effectively on Alabama’s front-seven?

Will Jake Fromm be able to continue the insane efficiency he’s had recently?

Will Alabama be able to balance its offense well-enough to keep Georgia on edge?

That’s how it usually is with special teams, especially in a game like this.
