ATHENS - The UGA Football program laced it up in Sanford Stadium on Saturday for its second team scrimmage of fall camp. Georgia is now less than two weeks away from its season-opening game against Marshall in Athens.
Kirby Smart and the program have kept the two scrimmages rather private, with select groups of people allowed into the stadium to watch the Dawgs get after it. The program did release a short highlight clip from Saturday’s action.
As seen in the video: Freshman running back Bo Walker made a nice run. Dwight Phillips Jr. scored a rushing touchdown. True freshman wide receiver CJ Wiley made an impressive catch. Gunner Stockton is growing out a mustache.
Insiders seemed to believe that the offense looked more impressive than the defense in this particular scrimmage.
Georgia will begin the season as the fifth-ranked team in the AP Poll. The last time that was the case? 2021.
