ATHENS - The three Georgia Bulldogs that will accompany head coach Kirby Smart at the SEC Football Media Days in Tampa have been announced. Redshirt senior quarterback Gunner Stockton, redshirt senior center Drew Bobo and senior linebacker Raylen Wilson.
The SEC football kickoff will take place in Tampa, Florida and span four days next week beginning on Monday. Tuesday is the day that Smart and the players will meet with the media in small groups, large groups, at the podium and on radio row.
Stockton is a repeat attendee for the Dawgs. He was joined by junior linebacker CJ Allen and senior cornerback Daylen Everette last July.
Georgia has recently had a repeat attendee, so this is not uncommon, especially for a quarterback. Former starting center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger attended in both 2022 and 2023.
The fans and the media know what they are getting out of this event with Stockton, which is not much. He seemed to be a little looser speaking to the media during the spring. Perhaps that is because he has a year of starting under his belt.
Bobo is entering his second year as Georgia’s starting center. Out of these three players, he was a little bit of a surprise to attend simply because he has been recovering from a lower leg injury that he suffered late in the season. He was held out of the postseason and spring practice. His presence in Tampa affirms his role as the starter despite missing so much time.
Wilson is now the leader of Georgia’s linebacker room and one of the most vocal leaders on this football team. He is quiet and to the point but loud on the field, much like Stockton. Wilson was third on the team in tackles only behind Allen and KJ Bolden.
