ATHENS - As crazy as it sounds, the Georgia Bulldog tight end room needs to be more productive in 2026.

The talent was there, and the tight ends were constantly on the field, but it didn’t lead to a ton of production. Lawson Luckie had a giant game against Texas, Oscar Delp made a big catch here and there, but as a whole, the Dawgs need more from the tight ends this upcoming season in the passing game.

Luckily, assistant Todd Hartley has all the tools he needs for his group to shine in a big way. Lawson Luckie is back for his fourth season, Jaden Reddell is emerging in year three, Ethan Barbour is back healthy, and then there’s Elyiss Williams.

The former five-star prospect from Camden County (GA) has a giant frame at 6-foot-7 255-pounds and the ability to be a mismatch in the passing game. He’s a big target, he’s athletic, and has a chance to see the field all season long in 2026.

The potential is there, but Kirby Smart said this spring there’s still a lot the second-year player needs to improve on this off-season.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Kansas Jayhawks have +3000 odds of winning the national championship next season.

“I think understand each play. To use his size and quickness and become a little more twitchy to be a receiving tight end as well as a physical and dominating blocking tight end. He's a weapon on the perimeter because of his size, but he's also a weapon on the interior because of his ability to strike and roll his hips and be a really good athlete.”

Williams size and natural strength allows him to make an impact in the running game, but eventually, the talented sophomore needs to see more passes come his way. As a freshman last season Williams caught seven passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. However, those numbers are expected to increase in year two. He’s got the size, talent, and potential to have an excellent 2026 season, and if he can contribute more in the passing game, Elyiss Williams should be a household name not only across Athens, but across college football next season.
