ATHENS - As all Dawg Post members know, Kirby Smart and his staff had major prospects across the country in town to check out G-Day.
One of the highest-ranked visitors in town was elite defensive tackle, Kellan Hall. A dominant force in the trenches, Hall is one of the top defenders across the country in the 2028 class who was in Athens over the weekend.
Listed at 6-foot-4 265-pounds, Hall plays at Christian Academy of Louisville (KY) and is very familiar with the Georgia program after another big visit.
Here’s what Hall had to say after his successful G-Day visit...
“I had a great visit,” Hall told Dawg Post. “I really enjoyed being in the meeting room with Coach Scott and the defensive staff prior to the scrimmage. I’m always interested in seeing how successful coaches get guys ready to play and what they tend to focus on. The scrimmage itself was fun to watch. The defense really looked disruptive and they got plenty of takeaways.”
“Coach Smart is really impressive,” Hall added. “I spent some time with him during pre-game warmups. He shared his thoughts on my game and we talked about family. He is a proven winner and has a history of developing players for the next level. Being in the meetings, locker room, and hanging with the players and coaches really felt like an NFL atmosphere.”
“I definitely feel like a priority,” Hall continued. “They are very particular about the guys that they recruit, especially on the defensive line. So them making sure that I understand the vision that they have for me and sharing exactly how they will develop me as a player and a man is very encouraging. I will definitely be back for a game this season.”
When you turn on his sophomore film it’s easy to see why Hall is ranked as one of the country’s best in his class. He’s big and physical, but he also fired oss the snap and can beat opposing offensive linemen with his quickness. He’s a bully at times, bowling over his opponents and creating consistent chaos in the backfield. He was tough to block all season long as should continue adding good muscle and mass over the next several years.
Hall is currently ranked as the No. 2 DL prospect and the No. 15 overall prospect in the country for the 2028 class.
