ATHENS - UGA Football and Kirby Smart have added three offensive analysts and two defensive analysts in preparation for the coming season.

Former Bulldog two-time All-Southeastern Conference running back Robert Edwards headlines the group of three analysts on offense.  A team captain in 1996 and teammate of now head coach Kirby Smart, Edwards led UGA in rushing in 1997 (908 yards) and 1996 (800) and had most recently served as head coach at his alma mater Washington County High School for the last four seasons.  He is joined by Jalen Harris and David Whitlow as the newest offensive analysts.

Harris has spent the last two seasons working for Georgia’s Player Development group after coaching wide receivers at UAB.  Harris played tight end for Auburn during his undergraduate days.  Whitlow comes to Athens after coaching wide receivers at Kennesaw State in 2025 and at West Georgia in 2024.  The Alabama State graduate also spent time on both the Ole Miss and Auburn coaching staffs.  Both will join Edwards as analysts for the offense.

On the other side of the ball, Maurice “Mo” Smith and Gordon Redfield-Gale have been added as defensive analysts.  Smith transferred from Alabama to Georgia when Smart got the UGA head coaching job in 2016 and played his final season for the Bulldogs.  Smith had previously served as a defensive student assistant for Georgia.  Redfield-Gale spent two seasons at USC as a defensive analyst after graduating from the institution in 2023.
