ATHENS - UGA Football closed out the transfer season with a bang.

Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs added former Oregon QB Bryson Beaver, who entered the transfer portal after a wild week of news for the Ducks this week.

Former UGA commit and starting Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola announced Monday that he was joining the Ducks as a transfer. Then Oregon’s starting QB for this past season, Dante Moore, announced Wednesday that he would return to Eugene for another season at Oregon rather than enter the NFL Draft as had been expected by many.

The Bulldogs were in need of depth at quarterback after 5-star QB Jared Curtis flipped to Vanderbilt just before Signing Day in December. Ironically enough, the Bulldogs would have depth had they retained Raiola in the Dawgs’ class of 2025. Instead Raiola flipped to Nebraska. Oregon is the fifth college or high school Raiola will play for in seven years.

Beaver’s move to Athens can be considered a NCAA Transfer Portal move, but Beaver completed his final season of high school football at Vista Murrieta in Southern California in the fall. For practical purposes he should be considered a part of UGA’s class of 2026.

Beaver, 6-3, 200, is considered a consensus four-star quarterback. He finished four years of high school football going 645 of 1,055 for 8,211 yards with 81 touchdowns.
