ATHENS - UGA Football Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks coach Mike Bobo has been named a finalist for the 2025 Broyles Award, it was announced Tuesday.

Bobo, who helped the third-ranked Bulldogs (12-1) to their second consecutive Southeastern Conference title last Saturday, is among the five finalists for the award which honors college football’s top assistant coach. 

Since its founding, the Broyles Award has honored 29 winners and more than 100 finalists. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart won the Broyles Award in 2009. During his Bulldog coaching career, Bobo now has been a Broyles Award finalist thrice (2012, 2023 & 2025). This season, Georgia is scoring 31.9 points per game and averaging 406.9 yards per game.

INDIANA – Bryant Haines, Defensive Coordinator/LBs
MIAMI – Corey Hetherman, Defensive Coordinator/LBs
OHIO STATE – Matt Patricia, Defensive Coordinator
TEXAS TECH – Shiel Wood, Defensive Coordinator/ILBs
 
Third-ranked Georgia has earned a first round bye in the College Football Playoffs (CFP). The Bulldogs will play in the CFP quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. EST against either No. 6 Ole Miss or No. 20 Tulane. The Rebels (11-1) play host to the Green Wave (11-2) in the CFP first round on Dec. 20 at 3:30 EST.
