ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs will leave Starkville with a big 41-21 win over Mississippi State, but they won’t leave unscathed.

Several Bulldogs went down with injuries and Kirby Smart gave the latest following Georgia’s giant win.

Tight end Lawson Luckie left the game in the second half after a targeting hit to the head. He left the field with some help but did not return to the ballgame. According to Smart, the injury is not nearly as bad as it looked initially.

“Lawson (Luckie) wanted to return but was told by the medical staff that he couldn’t”, Smart said.

Center Drew Bobo also went down with an injury and was replaced at center by Malachi Toliver.

“(Drew) Bobo has a laceration on his snapping hard”, Smart said.

Georgia is back at Sanford Stadium next Saturday night against No. 11 Texas. The Bulldogs beat the Longhorns twice in 2024, once in Austin and again in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.
