ATHENS - It may not be game week for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend, but it’s still a work weekend.

Smart and several staff members were out on the recruiting trail on Friday night to watch some top 2026 commitments compete on the field.

As you know by now, 5-star QB commit Jared Curtis‍ will take the short drive over to Vanderbilt to watch the Commodores take on Missouri. The Vanderbilt staff is doing everything they can to keep Curtis home, but sources told Dawg Post on Friday that the Bulldogs should have nothing to worry about. From what we’re currently hearing, Curtis bailing on Georgia would be very, very surprising.

Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo made the trip to Nashville on Friday night to watch Curtis throw for six touchdowns during a big 65-12 victory over Ezell-Harding Christian. He’s ranked as the No. 1 QB prospect and the No. 4 overall prospect in the country for the 2026 class.

While Bobo was in Nashville, Kirby Smart was in Marietta watching 4-star WR commit Craig Dandridge take on the powerful Kell Longhorns. Dandridge had a strong night, but the Bears would lose to Kell 45-18. While Dandridge was the only current Georgia commitment in the game, Smart was also there to get a good look at 2027 Kell running back Quinterrius Gipson and several other Longhorns.

Dandridge is having a terrific senior season for the Bears and has been one of the more productive wide receivers across the state so far this season.

In other news, Dawg Post confirmed that offensive line coach Stacy Searels was in South Cobb to watch the Pebblebrook/Paulding County game. He was there to see three-star OL target Tyreek Jemison who earned an offer from the Bulldogs earlier this month. The big 6-foot-5 300-pounder is a former Kentucky commitment what Georgia fans need to keep a close eye on.

Also, it looks like four-star running back Jae Lamar‍ is back with Colquitt County after a brief suspension. The talented South Georgia back was terrific in his return, rushing just five times for 120 yards and two touchdowns during a big win over Camden County.
