ATHENS - After a terrific summer on the recruiting trail it appears Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are on their way to signing another elite recruiting class in the 2026 cycle.

Defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann has two inside linebacker commits on board, and one of them, four-star Nick Abrams II‍, released his mid-season highlights this week.

The playmaking linebacker out of McDonogh High School in Maryland chose the Bulldogs back on July 16th over Michigan, Oregon, and many others.

“Georgia’s pitch was simple”, Abrams told Dawg Post. “You come to Georgia to get developed as a football player and as a man. You have the highest chance out of any school in the past 3 years to hear your name on draft night. You also will get a degree from a top 20 university in the county.”

Now, Abrams is showing this fall why he’s one of the top linebackers across the Northeast.

On tape, what stands out immediately is his instincts and natural playmaking ability. He’s a smart defender with a true nose for the football that allows him to constantly attack the play. He’s a stout run defender who covers a lot of ground sideline to sideline with the ability to be a weapon in coverage as well.

The 6-foot-2 220-pounder moves well for his size, can cover the middle of the field, and knows how to make a play on the ball. There’s a lot to like about his game and Georgia fans should be happy with what they’re seeing from the four-star out-of-state commitment.

Through his first five games, Abrams has made 39 tackles, five TFLs and two sacks to go along with two INTs that he took back for touchdowns. He’s also forced one fumble and has broken up two passes.

Abrams is currently ranked as the No. 17 LB and the No. 290 overall prospect in the country for the 2026 class.
