ATHENS - Former UGA Football star Jordan Davis scored a touchdown after blocking an attempted game-winning kick from the LA Rams on Saturday to preserve the Eagles’ 27-26 win over Matthew Stafford and the Rams.
Davis was an Integral part of the Bulldogs’ 2021 national championship team. He was a starter on a defensive that is considered one of the best all time in college football history.
Davis was a force to be reckoned with at Georgia, but particularly his final season in Athens when he was responsible for 32 tackles, two sacks and a touchdown run in 2021. He teamed up with fellow Philly Dawgs Kelee Ringo, Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Lewis Cine and Nakobe Dean to win it all with a 33-18 win over Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship Game in Indianapolis.
Davis was the 2021 Outland Trophy Winner and Chuck Bednarik Award Winner. He was also named a first team All-American. He ended his time in Silver Britches with 90 career tackles, 11.5 TFLs and seven sacks.
The Eagles drafted Davis No. 13 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was a part of a record-breaking draft class that saw 15 former Dawgs selected that spring. Davis and Dean went on to play in Super Bowl LVII their rookie seasons. With the win in Super Bowl LIX, Davis, Dean and Cine now have a Super Bowl win to match their national title. Philly’s Kelee Ringo, Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith have each won two national titles and a Super Bowl - making them three of the winningest football players in college or professional football this decade.
