BREAKING: 4-star LB Shadarius Toodle flips from Auburn Tigers to UGA Football
ATHENS - Kirby Smart and UGA Football snatched a commit from Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers on Sunday.
Shadarius Toodle, a consensus four-star linebacker from Mobile flipped from Auburn to UGA Football - a move that builds the Bulldogs’ commitment list to 18. Georgia is now in striking distance to get another top finish in recruiting this cycle.
“Toodle is one of the top linebackers across the South,” Dawg Post’s Matt DeBary said. “He was in Athens for Georgia’s big scavenger hunt weekend in mid-May. “Toodle is long, athletic, and shows great instincts against the run. He hits with force and can get sideline to sideline. He sheds blocks with ease. Toodle was one of more productive linebackers in Alabama in the fall, and he has been a top target for Glenn Schumann and the defensive staff.”
Toodle gives the Bulldogs 18 total commitments - 12 shy of what consensus No. 1 USC has. But the Trojans will have to hold off both Georgia and Ohio State, who have a history of coming on strong and finishing with top classes. The Trojans have limped into the finish in recruiting cycles of late.
UGA Football’s class is highlighted by five-star signal caller Jared Curtis, who is considered the No. 9 over prospect in the nation. Kirby and his program have been hot on the recruiting trail this summer. UGA Football has added ten commitments since Memorial Day.
DeBary says Toodle will be a very good addition to the Dawgs.
“He was just so productive,” DeBary said. “He had 157 tackles, 13 TFLs, two sacks and one INT. That’s a lot of activity.”
