ATHENS - Can Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs flip a four-star SEC commitment soon?

Over the weekend the Bulldogs had four-star cornerback and Vanderbilt commitment Caden Harris‍ in town for an official visit. Harris is one of the top cornerback prospects in the South and one of the highest-ranked prospects in Tennessee.

Harris earned an offer from the Dawgs 12 months ago and committed to the ‘Dores back on April 29th. Still, his communication and interest in Georgia never wavered. He’s always thought highly of Georgia and was in Athens over the weekend for his big official visit.

Harris made sure to recap his visit with Dawg Post.

“I think the biggest takeaway was speaking with the staff and talking about being developed,” Harris told Dawg Post. “Sitting in meetings and discussing everything showed me a lot. UGA speaks for itself. Everyone knows why its a top program. Coach Smart has showcased that a lot and the people he has around him makes the place even better.”

As a prospect, Harris is a natural athlete who shined in all three phases of the game last year. The quick-twitch prospect is a lockdown cornerback who shows impressive ball skills and big play ability on offense and in the return game. At wide receiver, Harris hauled in 37 passes for 782 yards and 11 touchdowns. Defensively, he made 30 tackles, returned one INT back for a touchdown and broke up seven more passes.

Harris is currently ranked as the No. 12 CB prospect and the No. 83 overall prospect in the country.

According to FanDuel, the Green Bay Packers have +270 odds to win the NFC North next season.

Another impressive DB commitment in town last weekend was three-star safety commitment, Kealan Jones‍. The Sprayberry (GA) standout committed to Georgia on April 12th and has been locked in with Dawgs ever since.

The 6-foot-0 180-pounder is one of three safety commitments on the Georgia commit list and left Athens feeling great about his commitment.

“One of my biggest takeaways from this weekend was just the reassurance that the coaches have a plan for me and I have a really good opportunity at hand.”

As a junior last season, Jones made 42 tackles and 4 INTs. He’s one of the top returning defensive backs in Georgia and is bound for a giant senior season for the Yellow Jackets in 2025.
