
UGA Baseball Season Ends After Oklahoma State Stuns Dawgs with 4-Run 9th Inning
ATHENS - UGA Baseball’s season has come to an abrupt end after a devastating 11-9 loss to Oklahoma State in the first of two games in Athens on Sunday. The Bulldogs took a two-run lead into the 9th inning, but gave up four runs on two home runs two lose to the Cowboys.
The loss means UGA's promising season ended in Athens for the second year in a row. A national seed, Georgia failed to reach the College World Series even with home field advantage these last two years. Georgia has not played in Omaha since 2008.

Junior JT Quinn got his seventh start on the mound for Georgia. He tied his longest outing of the season with four innings pitched, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out six batters.
Slate Alford (3-4, 3 RBI, 2 HR, BB) put the Bulldogs on the board with a two-run homer in the top of the third. He struck again in the fourth with a solo blast, making this the third time this season he has hit multiple home runs in one game.
Tre Phelps tied the game at three when he knocked a double in the third inning and advanced to third on a throwing error, which scored Robbie Burnett. The hit extended his hit streak to 14 games.
Christian Adams (4-5, 4 RBI, 2 HR) had a multi-home run day as well with a two-run in the third and a solo in the fifth. His RBI single to left field gave Georgia the lead in the seventh.
Oklahoma State’s Matt Brown (1-0) earned his first win of the season after collecting three strikeouts over one inning of work. Zach Harris (3-1) entered the game in the bottom of the ninth and suffered the loss for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs ended their season with a record of 43-17, which included a 30-7 record at Foley Field.
