ATHENS - After the first full weekend of college football in 2024, there was not much doubt that the Georgia Bulldogs were the No. 1 team in the country at the time.

Part of that was due to the beatdown Georgia gave Clemson to open up their respective seasons. Both squads went on to be College Football Playoff teams. Just nine months ago, Georgia beat Clemson 34-3.
