ATHENS - Kirby Smart and Mike Bobo have their quarterback. On Monday evening the Georgia Bulldogs landed a massive commitment from 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis.

He’s the top-ranked quarterback in the country and the future of Georgia football.

So what comes next? Dawg Post takes a look at Georgia’s quarterback options in the 2027 class...

4-star Peyton Houston‍ (Evangelical Christian, LA)

One of the more productive quarterbacks across the country during the 2024 season, Houston lit up the stat sheet as a sophomore last fall as he threw for 4,480 yards (5A state record) and 38 touchdowns. He also ran for 690 yards and seven more scores.

Houston was in Athens on February 1st and told Dawg Post the Bulldogs made a big impression.

“The message I consistently heard from the coaches at Georgia is all about the standard and competition. The whole coaching staff is on board with the same goal: to get players to the next level and develop them. They achieve this through daily competition, both on and off the field, and by holding their players to a high standard.”

Houston is ranked as the No. 5 QB prospect and the No. 49 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

4-star Jayce Johnson‍ (Lowndes, GA)

An explosive dual-threat quarterback with a Georgia offer our of Lowndes (GA), this in-state playmaker is an elusive runner with natural arm talent. He’s still developing as an overall passer, but he flashes easy big-play ability and lots of potential. The 6-foot-3 205-pounder was in Athens for unofficial visits in both early February and late March this year. He’s familiar with the Georgia program, holds an offer from the Bulldogs, and is one of the top QB prospects in the South for the 2027 class.

As a sophomore last season, Johnson threw for 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for 318 more yards and three touchdowns. He’s ranked as the No. 10 QB prospect and the No. 89 overall prospect in the country for the 2027 class.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Philadelphia Eagles have +650 odds to repeat as Super Bowl Champions next year.

4-star Kharim Hughley‍ (Gainesville, GA)

A mobile in-state quarterback with a strong arm and above-average athleticism, Hughley isn’t the biggest quarterback in his class, but he’s smart, accurate, and coming off a big sophomore season for the Gainesville Red Elephants. The 6-foot-0 190-pounder threw for 2,543 yards and 22 touchdowns last season with three more touchdowns on the ground. He holds a Bulldog offer and is someone Georgia fans need to keep an eye on in the 2027 class.

Hughley is ranked as the No. 13 QB prospect and the No.172 overall prospect in the country for his class.

4-star Teddy Jarrard‍ (North Cobb, GA)

A fast-rising quarterback in Georgia for the 2027 class, Jarrard has natural arm talent and has one of the strongest arms you’ll find across the South. He brings good size, above-average mobility, and is one of the more accurate quarterbacks in the state. The 6-foot-3 195-pounder from Kennesaw doesn’t hold a Georgia offer just yet, but he’s on their radar and could easily pick up an offer from the Dawgs this summer. At North Cobb Christian last year, Jarrard threw for an impressive 2,647 yards and 31 touchdowns. Look for him to have a massive junior season for the Warriors in 2025.

Jarrard is ranked as the No. 14 QB prospect and the No. 181 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

3-star Jameson Purcell‍ (Maine South, IL)

An impressive quarterback from the Midwest, Purcell is a quarterback to know in the 2027 class who took a visit to Georgia to check out spring practice back on March 13th. As a sophomore last season, this 6-foot-3 195-pounder threw for 2,572 yards and 30 touchdowns, completing 70% of his passes. He’s ranked as the No. 27 QB prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
