ATHENS - It’s been a busy week on the road for the Georgia Bulldog staff. Spring practices have started across the country and the Bulldogs have hit the road to check on some top targets.
Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo checked in on 5-star QB target Jared Curtis on Wednesday after stopping to see 5-star Jaden O'Neal and 4-star Bowe Bentley earlier this week. Sources say Bobo will be back in Nashville to visit with Curtis on Sunday before making his commitment on Monday evening.
Running backs coach Josh Crawford has also been busy this week. Crawford was in South Florida on Wednesday to check on four-star Derrek Cooper. Cooper is ranked as the No. 3 RB prospect in the country and the No. 33 overall prospect in the 2026 class. The versatile back brings good size at 6-foot-1 210-pounds, plenty of speed, and strong hands out of the backfield. While most sources believe this will come down to a Georgia/Miami battle, others believe Texas is firmly in the mix after a recent visit to Austin last weekend. Cooper plans to be in Athens for his official visit the weekend of June 13th.
Crawford also stopped to check on three-star running back Kaj Baker while he was in South Florida. The Somercrest Academy (FL) standout does not have an offer that we are aware of, but he could earn one down the road if the Dawgs miss on other backs higher on their board. The 5-foot-7 160-pounder ran for 520 yards on just 63 carries last year with 12 touchdowns.
Wide receivers coach James Coley stopped to see four-star Davion Brown in Florida on Wednesday. Ranked as the No. 35 WR prospect in the country, Brown stands at 6-foot-1 200-pounds and is coming off a big 2024 season where he caught 42 passes for 946 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’ll be in Athens for his official visit the weekend of June 13th.
Defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann was in California to check on four-star target Kenneth Goodwin and others. The 6-foot-2 205-pound defender is ranked as the No.28 LB prospect and the No.347 overall prospect in the 2026 class. Goodwin plans to be in Athens for his official visit the weekend of June 6th.
Defensive backs coach Donte Williams was in Texas checking on and offering four-star safety, Chace Calicut. The 6-foot-3 190-pounder out of North Shore (TX) is ranked as the No. 11 safety and the No. 127 overall prospect in the 2026 class.
