UGA Football defensive lineman Warren Brinson was selected No. 198 overall by the Packers in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Brinson spent five seasons in Athens and was a part of a loaded recruiting class that Kirby Smart brought in during the 2020 cycle. He totaled 60 tackles and six sacks over his five-year Georgia career.

Brinson was a reserve for the first couple of seasons of his career. He saw an increased role during Georgia’s second national championship of the back-to-back run in 2022 when he was a junior.

The defensive tackle then became a part of the starting rotation in 2023 and kept that role in 2024. He had to wait his turn behind a very talented run of defensive lineman that Georgia has had over the last few seasons, including Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt.

His most productive season was this past one in 2024 where he had 26 total tackles and sacked the quarterback twice. He was able to amass these numbers despite dealing with multiple injuries throughout his final year in school. He dealt with an achilles injury in August and played through that. He then missed a few games with an ankle injury in September.

Brinson’s selection serves as a very good recruiting pitch for Smart and defensive line coach Tray Scott. He did not have much production. He did not start that many times in his career. He did not have a super impressive combine workout. Despite all of that, he was drafted to the NFL.

That and the fact that he is a two-time national champion and SEC Champion is just another feather in the cap for this coaching staff that continues to have defensive lineman drafted.

Brinson is a player that has played in plenty of big moments, and performed in them as well. He recorded a sack in both the 2023 and 2024 SEC Championships.
