UGA Football Concludes 2025 NFL Draft with Seven More Draft Picks

ATHENS - Seven more UGA Football Bulldogs heard their name called to round out the third and final day of the 2025 NFL Draft Saturday afternoon at Lambeau Field.
Georgia capped of the day with the second-most players taken in a single draft in program history with 13, trailing only 2022 which saw 15 Bulldogs selected. Georgia also set a new program record for most day three draftees (7) since the event moved to a seven-round format.
Wide receiver Arian Smith was selected by the New York Jets with the eighth pick (110th overall) of the fourth round before running back Trevor Etienne followed shortly after as the 12th pick (114th overall) by the Carolina Panthers. In the fifth round, defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the first pick (139th overall) before linebacker Smael Mondon Jr. went 25th (161st overall) to the Philadelphia Eagles. Defensive lineman Warren Brinson was the lone Bulldog to go in the sixth round, taken 22nd (198th overall) by the Green Bay Packers before both safety Dan Jackson and wide receiver Dominic Lovett were selected 14th (230th overall) and 28th (244th overall) by the Detroit Lions in the seventh round.
Through five seasons in Athens, Smith tallied 68 receptions for 1,356 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns where he served as a key weapon in Georgia’s back-to-back College Football Playoff championship runs in 2022 and 2023. He is the 11th Bulldog taken by the Jets and the first since Jordan Jenkins went 83rd overall in the third round in 2016.
Etienne produced a stellar lone season in Athens, totaling 122 carries for 609 rushing yards and a team-leading nine touchdowns as well as 32 catches for 194 receiving yards through 10 games for the Bulldogs. He played a crucial role in Georgia’s 2024 SEC Championship victory, rushing for two scores including the overtime winner to walk-off Texas, 22-19 in Atlanta. Etienne becomes the seventh Bulldog and third offensive player to be selected by the Panthers.
In four seasons for the Bulldogs, Ingram-Dawkins appeared in 37 games where he registered 39 tackles with 31 solo stops along with 13 TFLs, four sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He becomes the seventh Bulldog to be selected by the Vikings and the first since his former teammate Lewis Cine was taken 32nd overall in 2022.
A key contributor to Georgia’s linebacking core, Mondon Jr. totaled 212 tackles with 125 solo stops, 18 TFLs, eight sacks, three passes defended and one interception in 51 career games through four seasons in Athens. He is the 27th Bulldog to be taken by the Eagles, joining former teammates Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Kelee Ringo, Nakobe Dean and Jordan Davis in Philadelphia.
Brinson spent five seasons in Athens where he recorded 71 tackles with 46 solo stops including 14 TFLs, six sacks and one fumble recovery through 59 career games while appearing in at least 12 contests in each of the last four years. He is the 20thGeorgia player selected by Green Bay and the sixth since 2021, marking back-to-back years the Packers have drafted a Bulldog after taking Javon Bullard 58th overall in the second round in 2024.
Jackson, who made his mark as a walk-on, capped off his collegiate career tallying 140 tackles with 99 on his own. He also notched five TFLs, five passes defended, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery while snagging five interceptions in 47 career games for Georgia. Jackson is the 16th Georgia product selected by Detroit and only the fifth defensive piece drafted by the Lions with the last coming in 2003 in linebacker Boss Bailey.
Lovett spent two seasons between the hedges, racking up 113 receptions for 1,220 yards and 10 touchdowns in 28 games for Georgia while totaling 197 catches for 2,243 yards and 13 touchdowns in his college career. Lovett joins Jackson in Detroit with this year’s draft marking the fourth time the Lions have selected two or more Bulldogs in the same class (1943, 1975 and 1985).
