ATHENS - UGA Football WR Dominic Lovett was picked No. 244 Overall by the Lions in the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay.
Former Missouri Tiger made the move to Athens going into the 2023 season. He started 14 games over the next two seasons. Lovett's was particularly good against the Gators. In two contests against Florida, Lovett had 11 catches for 135 yards and a touchdown.
It's likely Lovett saved his best preference overall in Silver Britches for his last Between the Hedges. Against Georgia Tech in November 2024, Lovett had five receptions for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdowns came in the fourth quarter. His second touchdown of the night tied the game late. Georgia went on to beat the Jackets in eight overtimes.
Lovett was one of the first players Kirby Smart's program took advantage of in the transfer portal. He was a necessary addition to the Dawgs' roster in 2023. Lovett was the Dawgs' leading receiver in 2024 with 59 catches for 607 yards and team-high six TD.
