ATHENS - Where’s Waldo? Where’s the beef? Where’s Ellis Robinson?
While the former five-star cornerback didn’t see much of the field last season as a freshman, Robinson is looking to change that in a big way next fall.
An elite prospect out of high school with elite length, ball skills, and natural instincts in coverage, many Georgia Bulldog fans were hoping to see Robinson make plays as a freshman last fall.
That of course didn’t happen. However, Robinson is way too talented to stay on the bench for long, and after not getting the playing time last year that he was hoping for, Robinson is hoping to earn a starting position in year two.
Sources say Robinson has made big strides forward this spring and the promising cornerback spoke with the media this week about his progression.

According to FanDuel, the Baltimore Ravens have +700 odds to win the Super Bowl during the 2025 season next fall.
“I feel like spring has been going well”, Robinson told reporters this week. “I’ve been picking up on plays. Working on communication and getting on the same page with the guys. We’re a connected room and we compete hard every day. Nothing is guaranteed here at Georgia. You have to work for everything that you earn.”
“Coming in, I knew it was going to be a lot of hard work”, Robinson added. “It’s nothing but competition here. Coming in as a freshman I didn’t really get what I expect but I’m still getting developed. Last year was still a good experience. My hardest lesson was staying patient. I wanted to be out there but I know my time is coming. I’m just staying patient and trusting the process that the staff has for me.”
In today’s world of college football, if you’re not playing early, especially as a highly-ranked recruit, the easy thing to do is to transfer. But Robinson has stayed patient, is working hard, and hoping to make a big impact as a sophomore. He still has to work his way into a starting role, which includes beating out several other talented cornerbacks, but Robinson clearly has the talent to make it happen.
