ATHENS - UGA Football wide receiver Nitro Tuggle was arrested on speeding and reckless driving charges early Thursday morning in Athens.
Records show that he was quickly bonded out for $26 and that Athens-Clarke County was the arresting agency.
UGA released the following statement regarding two suspensions from UGA Football:
"Nitro Tuggle and Marques Easley have been suspended indefinitely from all team activities. There will be no further comment."
Speeding and wreckless driving has been a recurring problem for Kirby Smart and this Georgia Bulldogs program over the last few years. In the last two years, north of 15 players in the program have been stopped, arrested or charged for some sort of driving violation, whether that was a DUI, speeding, racing or reckless driving.

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Hawks have -300 odds to make the NBA Playoffs this summer.
The issue seemed to calm down since the beginning of the 2024 season, but Tuggle’s arrest will bring this issue back up.
Smart has been repeatedly ridiculed and asked about hwo Georgia is handling these situations. This is what he has to say when he was asked about the issue after cornerback Daniel Harris was arrested for reckless driving in 2024:
“We continue to have guys make poor decisions, you know? It’s very unfortunate,” Smart said. “I know that our staff, myself, continue to drive home the sensitive nature of it. It’s certainly a deadly speed when you talk about the speed that he (Daniel Harris) was traveling at. You want kids to grow up. You want to treat them like your own kids. You want them to grow up and make good decisions and learn from other’s mistakes. We have guys share, and yeah, we obviously continue to talk to them, but it hasn’t stopped it. We’ve got to find a way to do it.”
Tuggle is entering his second season at Georgia and will likely face some sort of punishment that will not be shared with the public. Georgia usually keeps those things in-house unless the issue is more serious, such as a DUI.
Tuggle recorded just three catches for 34 yards in 2024 and got more playing time as the season waned. He is expected to be a part of Georgia’s rotation of receivers in 2025.
