ATHENS - UGA Football released a video showing the program getting ready for spring practices, which are scheduled to begin in middle March.

Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs are coming off an 11-3 season which included an appearance in the College Football Playoff at the Sugar Bowl and a Southeaster Conference championship. The Bulldogs will have to address the departure of a slew of veteran players including former starting quarterback Carson Beck, who transferred to Miami rather than declaring for the NFL Draft.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart is entering his tenth season as the Bulldogs’ coach. His career record in Athens is 105-19 (.846) with three SEC championships (2017, 2022, 2024), four appearances in the College Football Playoff (2017, 2021, 2022, 2024) and two national titles (2021-22). The Bulldogs have won the Peach, Sugar, Rose and Orange Bowls during Kirby Smart’s time at UGA.

This spring in Athens, the likely focus for Kirby and his Bulldogs’ is replacing Beck, and rearming an offense that struggled to run the ball effectively. Gunner Stockton, who started in the Sugar Bowl after Beck’s injury in the SEC Championship Game, is expected to lock down the starting quarterback spot. But RS freshman Ryan Puglisi will compete for that job as well.

UGA is expected to start spring practice on March 11th with the Bulldogs’ NFL Pro Day on March 12th. The Bulldogs’ annual G Day game is expected to be April 12th.
