ATHENS - Kirby Smart and Georgia’s EDGE room may be a little thin at the moment, but help is on the way.

With starter Chaz Chambliss off to the NFL and former Bulldogs Damon Wilson and Sam M’Pemba playing elsewhere, the Bulldogs will need multiple defenders step up on the outside next fall.

Outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe signed an outstanding trio of EDGE defenders in the 2025 class and had two impressive 2026 in-state targets on campus last weekend.

Those two targets, Khamari Brooks‍ (North Oconee, GA) and Dre Quinn‍ (Greater Atlanta Christian, GA), both caught up with Dawg Post about their recent visit.

Brooks, a local defender with an impressive 6-foot-4 220-pound frame is coming off a breakout junior season where he showed he’s one of the best pass-rushers and outside linebackers not only in Georgia, but across the South. He’s an impressive in-state target who had a lot to say about his visit.

“What I learn most from the visit is that a good amount of their outside linebackers get on the field very early and they take a lot of pride in building relationships between the coaching staff and their players”, Brooks told Dawg Post. “Also, the nutrition and weightlifting are directly connected together and the way that they do things are very different from a lot of programs across the country. They are going to keep getting me up there and coming to see me as much as possible because they think I am a guy that is really going to be able to help them. Their message it me is to keep working and getting better because you can never stop improving.”

Brooks is ranked as the No. 12 EDGE defender and the No. 109 overall prospect in the country for the 2026 class.

According to FanDuel, the Georgia Bulldogs have +700 odds to win the 2025 national championship next season.

Then there’s Norcross native, Dre Quinn‍. Another long, athletic defender who should continue to develop more and more as an impactful pass-rusher, Quinn stands at 6-foot-4 225-pounds and flashed easy big-play ability last year as he made 42 tackles, 9.5 TFLs and three sacks with one forced fumble. Quinn made the quick trip over to Athens and felt liked a top priority during his time there.

“I learned more about their defense at how they utilize their players to their best fit”, Quinn told Dawg Post. “I also learned that it’s more about quality snaps and film rather than snaps and stats. While I was there, Coach Chidera, The OLB Coach, emphasized that I’m a priority target for them and we talked about how they will utilize me at both the Edge/OLB position and at the Defensive end position.”

Quinn is currently ranked as the No. 25 EDGE and the No. 252 overall prospect in the country.
