ATHENS - Stacy Searels’ “Great Wall of Georgia” is finally complete.
After landing four in-state offensive line commits this cycle, Searles adds one more in three-star, Dennis Uzochukwu.
This raw but gifted offensive tackle brings a promising 6-foot-6 285-pound frame with outstanding potential on the field. This fast-rising prospect was committed to Georgia State, but opened up his recruitment when some bigger opportunities started to come his way. He earned an offer from the in-state Bulldogs this month and his recruitment obviously took a turn.
Now, this high-ceiling right tackle is committed to Georgia.
What are the Bulldogs getting in Uzochukwu?
Size, potential, and mobility.
You can’t teach his type of size and frame. He’s a lean prospect who moves well for his size and shows quick feet in pass protection. He’s big and strong enough to overpower smaller defenders, but he shows finesse in the run game as well. He can pull in the run game and does a good job of finding linebackers to crush at the second level. He’s a punishing run blocker who grabs on tight and drives defenders backwards.
When you turn on the film, make sure you go grab some syrup. Playing against excellent defenders all season long, Uzochukwu more than held his own and put defenders on the ground on a consistent basis. He plays with good leverage and has enough length and footwork to handle speedy edge rushers on the outside.
The potential is easy to see after his outstanding senior season. He’s only been playing the offensive line for two years, and the progression he made from his junior year to this fall has been eye-opening.
When he gets to Athens, it’s all about learning and developing. He’ll be in a position where he can gain weight when he gets to campus instead of lose it. He won’t be asked to play early, giving him time to perfect his craft, develop his technique, and add more muscle.
Now, the Bulldogs have five offensive line commitments, and all of them come from within the state.
Uzochukwu is currently ranked as the No. 28 OT prospect, the No. 60 prospect in Georgia, and the No. 448 overall prospect in the country for the 2025 class.
