ATHENS - UGA Football coach Kirby Smart indefinitely suspended Colbie Young in early October after his arrest on misdemeanor charges of battery and assault of an unborn child.

On Wednesday night, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported that the woman who accused Young “has retracted her statement to police and requested that all criminal charges against him be dropped, according to an affidavit provided to ESPN by Young's attorney on Wednesday.”

As of 9:30 Wednesday night no charges had been dropped by prosecutors.

According to FanDuel, the Georgia Bulldogs have +150 odds to win the SEC Championship next month.

ESPN reported that the affidavit stated that the women requested the charges be dismissed on October 14 by the Athens-Clarke County Solicitor General's Office.

Kirby Smart told reporters in October that Young had been suspended from the program.

"He's been suspended indefinitely until this legal matter is resolved. (i) can't really comment any further on the specifics of it, but I had a good meeting with him this morning,” Kirby said. We’re committed to continuing to educate our players and do the best job we can of making sure they understand the serious nature of these incidents.”
