ATHENS - After signing the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have added a playmaking wide receiver out of the transfer portal.

Former Miami Hurricane receiver, Colbie Young.

The big 6-foot-5 215-pounder out of Binghamton, NY played two strong seasons at Miami where he totaled 79 catches for 939 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a sophomore last year, Colbie caught 47 passes for 563 yards and five touchdowns.

As a player, Young brings plenty of size, but he’s also a threat to pick up yards after the catch. He shows soft, dependable hands with the ability to tun up and get down the field. He’s a strong route-runner for his size and can be tough to bring down by smaller defenders down the field.

He’s a big target with a large catch radius. He brings a combination of size, burst, and experience that the Georgia coaches coveted. He’s made a big impact for the Hurricanes, and now’s he’s heading to Athens looking to make an immediate impact as a junior next season.

He’s big, productive, and shows natural hands down the field.

Young is the second receiver to commit to Georgia through the transfer portal, joining former Vanderbilt wideout London Humphreys. to Bryan McClendon’s wide receiver room.

The Bulldogs will likely be without receiver Ladd McConkey next year as sources say he is leaning towards entering the 2024 NFL Draft. The Bulldogs still have Dillon Bell coming back, as well as Rara Thomas, Dom Lovett, Anthony Evans, and several more young wideouts.
