ATHENS - UGA Football‘s 30-15 beating of former No. 1 Texas highlighted the weekend of college football. Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs reshuffled the top spots in the AP Poll, but did Georgia take the top spot?

Georgia’s thumping of the No. 1 Horns was not enough for the Dawgs to recapture the top spot. Oregon is the nation’s new No. 1 team. UGA checked in at No. 2 in this week’s AP poll

Oregon went on the road to dispatch Purdue Friday night to start the weekend Friday night. A few hours later undefeated BYU stole a win over Oklahoma State. Miami scored another good win - this time at Louisville. The Canes are one of three undefeated ACC teams in league play. Clemson added another blowout to its resume.

Alabama’s loss at Neyland Stadium puts the Tide in a very difficult situation in terms of the playoff race. Bama still has to deal with top-ten LSU, who blew out the Hogs on the road Saturday night.

Iowa State survived UCF. A&M was unimpressive against State, but continued its undefeated ways in conference play. Indiana is looking like at least the third-best team in the relatively weak Big Ten.

Kansas State got a huge win at West Virginia, while Missouri had a comeback win to top Auburn. SMU beat the Trees 40-10. Illinois all but ended Michigan’s season with a 21-7 thumping.

Army topped ECU while Navy sank Charlotte.

This week the Dawgs are off, but several ranked teams have tough showdowns.

Pitt will take on Syracuse Thursday night, and UNLV hosts Boise in what is a huge game for a playoff bid. Ranked Navy and Notre Dame continue their rivalry at Giants Stadium. Oregon welcomes ranked Illinois Saturday on CBS.

Alabama clings to its playoff life as it welcomes Missouri in what will be a loser-leaves-town game for the CFP. Meanwhile, Texas travels to Nashville to take on a Vandy program that’s taken out Virginia Tech and Alabama at home.

LSU and A&M, who have combined for seven SEC wins and no losses, face off in College Station in what is a huge showdown between the neighbors.

According to FanDuel , Georgia has the best odds to win the national championship this season at +330
