ATHENS - Through two weeks of the season, UGA Football has a strong grasp on the No.1 ranking in both the coaches poll and the AP Poll.
Kirby Smart and Georgia made Dabo Swinney’s Clemson Tigers look incapable of scoring on offense on the way to a 34-3 victory. In week two, Georgia cruised by Tennessee Tech, registering another statistically lopsided game, as it should.
Georgia is not the only team that has taken care of business and looked good doing so. Texas has moved into the No. 2 slot in the AP Poll after beating Michigan in Ann Arbor 31-12. Ohio State continues to get buzz as the best team in college football with the roster the Buckeyes have.
Those things don’t matter to ESPN’s college football insider/commentator Paul Finebaum. He is doubling down on the Dawgs. Finebaum has been adamant about how good he thinks Georgia is, and after watching two weeks and some change worth of games, he is even more confident.

He made an appearance on SportsCenter on Sunday with his take:
“I’m all-in, and I know that is saying a great deal after watching Texas play yesterday, but I feel like Georgia is a notch above,” Finebaum said.“They’ll get each other in the middle of October and we can settle that. By the way, there’s a chance Georgia and Texas could play three times this year: in October, in Atlanta in December, and some time, probably for the national championship. I think they are that elite, but I think Georgia is in a class of its own and that’s why I am all-in.”
It is a bold take, especially this early in the season. Georgia has yet to play a road game and is not without some small concerns heading into the SEC slate. Texas really has looked impressive to start the season.
