UGA Football's Kirby Smart Hopeful on Slew of Injured Dawgs | "We’ve Got Good Depth"
ATHENS - UGA Football is trying to get fully healthy as the Bulldogs roll into one of the toughest schedules in school history. Coach Kirby Smart gave a list of players who are trying to get back to full strength before the start of the 2024 season.
Here is the list of players Kirby went over with the media on Thursday.
UGA Football's 5 Big Questions for 2024 Fall Camp
UGA Football DL Warren Brinson (Achilles tendon)
“He’s in and out. It is the opposite one that he had in the spring. It is not long. We injected it. He should be back shortly.”
UGA Football OL Marcus Harrison (foot)
“He is dealing with a stress reaction on his foot. He should be back shortly.”
UGA Football DL Jordan Hall (tibia)
“He has a tibia stress fracture that we ended up having to do surgery on. We expect a full recovery. He will be back, hopefully by the first game. He will be close.”

UGA Football DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
“He is coming back from an injury he has dealt with. He’s not 100%, but he’s close.”
UGA Football LB Smael Mondon (foot)
“Smael is able to do some stuff - not everything. But he’s almost back.”
UGA Football RB Branson Robinson (knee)
“Branson will start practice without limitation. But we will have some load management with him. It is not a shock to me that he can go without limitation. Branson was having a really good camp (last season). I know he is looking forward to getting back out there."
CHAMPION UGA FOOTBALL HELMET TRI-BLEND T-SHIRT
UGA Football WR Cole Speer (mid foot sprain)
“Cole is dealing with a little bit of a mid foot sprain.”
UGA Football DB Chris Peal (labrum)
“He had labrum repair at the end of spring. He will be limited a little bit.”
Kirby added that the Bulldogs will bring 120 players into camp (85 on scholarship + 35 walk-ons).
“I am fired up about that. That’s good numbers for us. In the future it won’t be that,” he said of the modification of NCAA scholarship rules looming over the sport. “We’ve got good depth in camp, and we are looking forward to creating some mental and physical adversity through the heat and the practices so that we can start to form our team.”
