ATHENS - Stacy Searles and the Georgia Bulldogs have landed another top in-state offensive lineman.
This time, it’s four-star interior lineman, Cortez Smith.
A three-year starter who will headline the OL once again for the Parkview Panthers, Smith was a long-time Georgia target who chose the Dawgs today over schools like Miami, South Carolina, and Georgia Tech, among others.
The impressive guard/center gives Georgia their third in-state offensive line commitment, joining four-stars Dontrell Glover and Mason Short.

According to FanDuel, the Buffalo Bills are 7-point favorites to defeat the Arizona Cardinals in week one of the 2024 season.
What will Smith bring to Athens?
Toughness, versatility, and the ability to move.
One of the top center prospects across the country, Smith is an experienced veteran who has bullied 7A defensive linemen year after year during his Parkview career.
He brings a muscular 6-foot-3 300-pound frame who moves extremely well for his size. He has the ability to play tackle and guard at Parkview, and could still provide depth there in Athens, but sources close to Smith say he could be one hell of a center once he gets to Athens. He’s smart, shows great feet, and plays with good leverage. He can pull with ease in the run game, and when he gets going, he can bulldoze through linebackers and open up holes at the next level.
His quickness for his size stands out, and he does a good job of using his lower body strength to drive defenders backwards once he latches on. He plays like a bully and consistently drives opponents into the ground. He does a great job of blocking until the final whistle is blown, giving 100% max-effort on every snap.
He brings an excellent frame, plays with relentless effort, and can really move for his size. He locates linebackers re-snap and consistently does his job. He can help open up running land between the tackles with the ability to help on a defensive tackle, then go find a linebacker to take out.
A fundamentally sound lineman, Smith earned a starting role as a freshman for a reason. He works hard, he’s easy to coach, and is a technician in both his run blocking and in pass protection. He loves to compete, loves to learn, and has a very bright future ahead of him in Athens.
Smith is ranked as the No.11 interior lineman and the No. 157 overall prospect in Georgia.
