ATHENS - Did Kirby Smart and James Coley just land the next great Georgia Bulldog receiver?

4-star CJ Wiley‍, an LSU legacy out of Milton (GA) who could easily have five stars next to his name, has committed to Georgia tonight, giving the Dawgs one of the best wide receiver prospects in the 2025 class.

A former Florida State commitment who recently opened up his recruitment, Wiley is an elite pass-catcher who could be one of the very best to come through Athens when his college career is over.

Coley and the Dawgs are loading up with talented receivers, and Wiley is easily one of the best of the best across the country in the 2025 class.

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Falcons have +2400 odds to win the Super Bowl next season.

What will Wiley bring to Athens?

Size, speed, production, and ball skills.

Wiley is a young man who checks every box coaches look for in a receiver. At 6-foot-4 195-pounds, Wiley has size that can’t be taught with natural speed down the field. A track star for the Milton Eagles, Wiley ran an eye-opening 10.83 in the 100-meters earlier this spring, an incredible time for someone his size.

He brings an excellent frame and a massive catch radius, having the ability to leap up and pluck the ball out of the air. He can go get the football and should remind Georgia fans of guys like AJ Green and George Pickens.

He’s THAT good.

“His catch radius and strong hands are what makes him special outside of his uncoachable size and speed”, Milton offensive coordinator Stevie Jackson told Dawg Post.

An easy vertical threat who can torch defensive backs down the field, Wiley also knows how to get open consistently on his own. He’s been coached and trained by former Bulldog Terrence Edwards for years, working on his feet, explosiveness, and route-running.

Then there’s his work ethic. The son of a very talented former LSU Tiger, Wiley knows how to work. He trains constantly and has organized extra practice sessions on the weekend with his Milton teammates. He’s a “first one in, last guy out” type. His work ethic is hard to match, and when you combine that with his size, speed, and ball skills, it’s hard to find another receiver who checks as many boxes as Wiley does.

Of course, there’s the production. Wiley was unguardable last year as a junior, hauling in 68 passes for 1,473 yards and 14 touchdowns in 15 games, averaging just under 22 yards a catch.

So far this season, Wiley has caught 40 passes for 680 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Wiley is widely considered as one of the best receivers to come through the state of Georgia in years, and now he’s staying home to play for the in-state Georgia Bulldogs.

Wiley is currently ranked as the No. 12 WR prospect, the No. 10 prospect in Georgia, and the No, 81 overall prospect in the country.
