ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs had a four-star running back target on campus over the weekend, and it was four-star Byron Louis‍.

Georgia running backs coach Josh Crawford hosted Louis on an official visit this past weekend and are looking to add a second running back commitment in the 2025 class to go along with current three-star commitment Bo Walker‍.

It’s a down year nationally for running backs, but Louis, a South Florida back from powerhouse American Heritage (FL) is one of the best across the South in the 2025 class.

Sources say the 6-foot-0 205-pounder is leaning towards staying in the Sunshine State, but Louis told Dawg Post that he felt the love from Crawford and the Georgia staff this past weekend.

According to FanDuel, the Baltimore Orioles have +100 odds to win the 2024 World Series this fall.

“I've been going to Athens for the last 2 years, so there was nothing really to learn”, Louis said. “However, building a relationship with Coach Crawford was the most important thing to me on this visit. He’s a great guy.”

“The #1 thing that excites me about UGA is the culture”, Louis added. “They believe in the same thing as me. They’re ELITE! Both Coach Smart and Coach Crawford told me I’m elite and fit right into their program. With coach Crawford, recruiting aside, he's a great guy and the best part about him is he's REAL! He's not going to say things just to make you feel good.”

Louis added that he still has an official visit lined up to Florida State this weekend and that there’s no set commitment timetable.

“I have FSU this weekend and I might do some in-season visits if I don't commit this summer.”

As a prospect, Louis is a tackle-breaking back with excellent burst, vision, and change of direction. He runs with authority with the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. He’s shifty, runs with impressive balance, and is looking to score every time he has the ball. He’s a dynamic back with a strong combination of speed, power, and big play ability.

Playing against excellent competition on a weekly basis, Louis consistently ran through defenses last fall as a junior, rushing for 1,224 yards on 160 carries (7.7 yards per attempt) and 18 touchdowns.

He’s currently ranked as the No. 14 RB prospect and the No. 219 overall prospect in the country for the 2025 class.
