ATHENS - It’s hard to find a better defensive line coach in college football than Georgia’s Tray Scott.

From recruiting to developing, and all in between, Scott has been a tremendous asset to the Georgia Bulldog coaching staff and has become an ace recruiter on the trail.

After signing an excellent group in Georgia’s top-ranked 2024 class, Scott has Georgia in a favorable position for some elite defensive line prospects in the current 2025 class.

Tray Scott and the Dawgs have one EDGE commitment in 4-star Darren Ikinnagbon‍ and one DT commitment in 3-star Stephon Shivers‍.

Shivers, a massive 6-foot-4 350-pounder from Tennessee made 90 tackles, 20 TFLs, and 11 sacks last season as a junior. He's ranked as the No. 40 DL and the No. 469 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

Ikinnagbon is ranked as the No. 17 EDGE defender and the No. 118 overall prospect in the country.

***Here are some interior defensive line targets to keep a close eye on this summer***

5-star Elijah Griffin‍ remains a big name to keep an eye on. The Savannah Christian Prep defender is ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect in the country and the Dawgs are hoping to keep him in the peach state. Sources told Dawg Post from the beginning that this could come down to Georgia and South Carolina, but some believe Clemson, Oregon, Miami, and others are making a move in his recruitment.

The 6-foot-5 290-pounder will be on his Southern Cal official visit the weekend of June 21st and sources say he plans to take official visits to Georgia, Clemson, and Miami as well.

After speaking with sources this week, most believe that Georgia is still the team to beat in the end. He has a great relationship with the Georgia staff and has been to Athens countless times over the years. This is a battle we just can’t see Tray Scott losing in the end.

According to FanDuel, the Los Angeles Dodgers have +300 odds to win the World Series this year.

Speaking of battles with Southern Cal, as we’ve reported several times, Dawg Post feels Tray Scott and Georgia still have an excellent chance of flipping 5-star target Justus Terry‍. There’s still a long way to go, and Dawg Post was told this one could go in a lot of different directions this summer. In the end, several sources believe his relationship with Tray Scott, and Kirby Smart, along with playing close to home with help Georgia win out in the end. He committed to Georgia originally, and most we speak with feel Georgia has a great chance of getting him back on board when it’s time to sign.

Another in-state target to know is 4-star Christian Garrett‍. The Athens-area native holds an offer from the Bulldogs and will take his official visit the weekend of June 7th. Garrett made 53 tackles, five TFLs and three sacks last year while leading the Wolverines to a second-consecutive state title. This second, Dawg Post doesn’t believe Garrett is at the top of Tray Scott’s board with so many other interior targets on the board, but if he has the green light to commit this summer, Garrett could easily be on Georgia’s commit list by the end of July. The 6-foot-4 270-pounder is currently ranked as the No. 9 DL prospect and the No. 122 overall prospect in the country.

Then there’s 4-star DT Kevin Wynn‍. The massive 6-foot-3 320-pounder out of Greene County made 70 tackles and an incredible 30 TFLs last fall. He may not have five stars next to his name, but this rural Georgia defender was extremely disruptive last fall and consistently made plays in the backfield. Like Garrett, if Wynn has the green light to jump on board this summer, he immediately becomes a name to keep a close eye on.

Other DL targets to know about include:

3-star Charles House - North Mecklenburg (NC)

4-star DL Trajen Odom‍ - Weddington (NC)

4-star DL Kevin Oatis‍ - Hattiesburg
