ATHENS - UGA Football WR Ladd McConkey was picked No. 34 overall to the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit.

What a career this young man had in Athens.

The North Georgia native out of North Murray High School was a last-second addition to Georgia’s 2020 class after the Tennessee Volunteers, his childhood favorite team, told him “no thanks”.

Now, he’ll go down as a fan favorite and one of the very best receivers in the Kirby Smart era. The two-time national champion made a handful of memorable catches during his time in Athens, and now he’s off to the NFL to prove more doudbters wrong.
