ATHENS - It’s a wild time in Athens, Georgia right now. Kirby Smart and his team are in the third week of spring practice, and major prospects are coming to town for visits on a daily basis.
It’s always recruiting season in Athens, and this week, the Georgia Bulldog staff extended an offer to a fast-rising prospect in the Peach State.
One South Georgia prospect on the rise who earned a Georgia offer is athlete, Todd Robinson. A true playmaker with the ball in his hands at 6-foot-0 190-pounds, Robinson is a productive quarterback for the Valdosta Wildcats with natural athleticism. He made plays with both his arms and legs last year, throwing for over 1,000 yards and rushing for over 1,000 yards while scoring 14 total touchdowns. He'll likely end up at running back or somewhere else at the next level due to his burst and explosiveness with the ball. He’s a natural runner who knows how to elude defenders down the field. His stock is on the rise, and now that he's earned his first SEC offer from Georgia, look for other SEC teams to do the same.
“I was in shock and couldn’t believe it when I first learned about the offer”, Robinson said. “I know a lot about the UGA program but what I know most is that they were obviously back to back champs and produce some of the best players. They offered me as an athlete but they want to get me to a summer camp so they can really get a good look and decide what position might fit me best.”
