ATHENS - Kirby Smart and UGA football added another transfer portal piece to the program on Friday.
Former Stanford TE Benjamin Yurosek, who is considered one of the top tight ends in the NCAA Transfer Portal, picked the Bulldogs over a slew of other schools.
"Obviously Georgia has the best of both worlds," Yurosek told ESPN. "They have big-time football, and the use of tight ends.”
Former Georgia TE Brock Bowers is considered one of the top overall prospects for the NFL Draft later this spring. The Bulldogs also have a slew of younger tight ends led by Oscar Delp, who started in place of an injured Bowers during the 2023 season.
Yurosek managed to play only six times in 2023 - catching 16 balls for 239. He was suffering through a shoulder injury. In 2022, Yurosek ended the season with 49 catches for 495 with two touchdowns.
“This year is going to be about my development in football and preparing myself for next steps for the future,” Yurosek added to ESPN. “I'm going to make sure I get the most Georgia has to offer, but keep football the main priority.”
Yurosek was very productive over his three years on the Farm at Stanford - catching 108 balls for 1,342 yards.
